The importance of taking time for yourself becomes more pronounced especially during the holidays. If you are not accustomed to doing so, take a look, and see if you feel overwhelmed at times, quicker to irritation and anger, have restless sleep, and are more tired. These are sure-fire signs that you are definitely in need of some downtime and need time to reflect on what is going on in your life. It is usually during the holidays where we get swept up in the holiday spirit – a time to appreciate our family, friends, special connections that are in our lives. However, the downside to the holidays is the invites to multiple Christmas parties, fighting traffic, shopping for gifts, wrapping the gifts, or the untimely cold or health ailments that seem to pop up just when we have so much to do and take care of.

The question is how do we stay balanced and centered during these times? Is it truly okay to decline certain invitations to Christmas parties that you have been attending for years past? Yes it is okay, if you are finding yourself feeling ragged and running around like a chicken without a head. It’s vitally important for you and the sake of your loved ones that you are present with yourself, so that you can be present with them. Just let your family members and friends how much you appreciate the invite and desire to attend the event, but right now, it is more important for you to take care of your well-being in order for you to be in the right heart space of gratitude and appreciation for all the love and support you have received throughout the year.

What I have learned to be true is how extremely important and vital it is for you to take time for yourself in order be grounded and become centered in how you approach your life, loved ones, friends, and social/familial obligations. Give yourself permission to just “be” and schedule “ME” time for yourself in your busy calendar. You, your family, friends, and close loved ones will thank you for it in the long run. Take time to enjoy this holiday season and make it a practice to have some quiet time, so that way you can go within and check to see what it is that you want to do in the upcoming new year. It will be time well spent, and will allow you to step back from your hectic life, take a look at the bigger picture, and discover what it is that you really “want” in your life. You deserve to manifest all that you want, but the only way to get that perspective is taking the time to do so.

To all of you, have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season! Don’t forget to prioritize yourself or your life and know that by doing so, you can be more present with your loved ones and be of service to others! I will see you and share more insights in Year 2015! All my best!
